As a self-confessed over-achiever and people-pleaser, I came to a point in my life when I knew I needed to let go of all the ‘should’s’ and ‘have-tos’ if I was going to be happier in life. So one day I hesitantly, yet bravely, applied to university.
I wasn’t sure how it was all going to work out as I had two young kids at home AND a husband who was also in school (gulp). But it was the first of many steps I took on my journey to figure out who I was and what I really wanted.
I now have a Bachelor’s degree in Conflict Resolution Studies and a Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies. My combination of education and life experiences has helped me immensely as a life coach.
I’ve learned the importance of building trust and respect in communication. I’ve experienced the value of actively listening, and asking good questions to get to the roots of a problem. And I’ve incorporated strategies to move past the limiting beliefs that prevent change and forward momentum.
And my passion is to help you do the same.
A few other things to know about me…
a multi-passionate multi-potentialite. A multipotentialite is someone who has multiple passions and interests. We often want to ‘do all the things’ and ‘be all the things,’ and so it can be a challenge to design lives and careers that fit us. That’s why I totally get women who are struggling to design a life and career that works for them…I’ve been there.
I’m an organizer at heart. My love of organizing started at a young age when I would de-clutter and re-arrange all the bottles underneath my parent’s bathroom sink (move over Marie Kondo!). This means I am in my ELEMENT when I can help people get internally organized, gain clarity, and strategically manifest important goals.
I’m also an introvert. All you introverts out there will hear me when I say I love people, but I need my alone time! Understanding and appreciating the unique strengths and skills of introverts has allowed me to gently but firmly nudge clients out of their comfort zones.
And last, and certainly not least, I’m no stranger to risk. When I was twenty-one, I moved halfway across Canada for love. As it turns out, it was a good risk that paid off! I’ve been married to my best friend for twenty-five years, and we live with our two daughters– and one cranky cat– in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
